Une autre de mes pièces préférées, un container de parachutage anglais de type C. Celui-ci fut parachuté à la résistance de Dordogne en 1943. Il était chez un ancien avec 3 autres containers (récupéré par un ami) et servait à faire sécher les noix !!

I'm looking for some information (this is a cross-post, already posted on the Word War II Aircraft forum). Can anyone help with more details on the parachute supply containers shown in the photos below? These were used by the RAAF in New Guinea (one of the photos below shows the container under the wing of a Wirraway), and known as "Jungle Type Containers", but I think they were fairly common.

The CLE Canister, or CLE Container was a standardized cylindrical container used by the British during World War II to airdrop supplies to troops on the ground. The name initially derived from the Central Landing Establishment that developed.

During WWII all kinds of military equipment was dropped in CLE (Central Landing Establishment) airborne containers to resupply allied troops behind enemy lines or fighters of the French Resistance. To enable the supply of fuel, a cylindrical can was developed to fit inside one of the several drop container types.
